Two gentleman from my area were at the Las Vegas Fastener show were busy at the Paris "round bar" the entire week. They brought prints and samples and they were sitting down with every Chineese supplier they could find. They would simply introduce themselves, offer to buy the supplier a beer and pour through the prints and samples. And yes, they were each enjoying a beer the entire time. But they came to the show with a strategy and they worked their plan. I am not sure any two people accomplished more than they did at the show -- and they were still enjoying a cold one during the entire process.

Las Vegas Show

Next week is the Las Vegas Vegas Fastener Show. I try to set a goal every show of meeting ten new people I don't already know. That could mean walking up to someone I see every year but have never spoken with or it could be approaching a company I have never heard of. If you are not setting up meetings for that show, then you aren't working.
